Influence of mental skills on situational awareness of monitoring operators:moderating effect of mind wandering
To maintain the good situational awareness(SA)of operators, and reduce the occurrence of mind wandering and operation error,68 subjects were recruited to carry out the experiment of shearer state monitoring, then the data of job perform-ance,SAGAT scale, mental skill questionnaire and mind wandering questionnaire were recorded to explore the influence of mental skills on SA and its three stages, and the moderating effect of mind wandering was verified. The results show that the mental skills have positive effect on SA.With the improvement of mental skills level, the operators have shorter reaction time and higher accuracy and SAGAT scale scores. There is a significant positive correlation between mental skills and the three stages of SA,and the impact on perception and understanding level is greater. In addition, the mind wandering negatively reg-ulates the positive relationship between mental skills and SA,and negatively moderates the relationship between mental skills and the three stages of SA respectively, while the weakening effect is the most significant at the prediction level. The research results can provide management suggestions for ensuring the smooth production of working face and improving the safety level of smart mine.
