DEM research on mechanical properties of gashydrate bearing coal with different loading rates
In order to investigate the influence of loading rate on the mechanical properties of coal consolidated by gas hy-drate,a modeling method of gashydrate bearing coal under the flexible boundary and irregular particle conditions was pro-posed,and the rationalityof modelwas verified. The double-axis numerical experiment was conducted with loading rates ranging from 0.005~0.25 mm/s. The results show that the stress-strain curve of gashydrate bearing coal exhibits a strain hardening trend,and the critical loading rate of 0.05 mm/s is the strength transition point. The morphology of the sample shear zone is mainly in the form of an "X" and shows a bulging failure. As the loading rate increases,the degree of bulging of the sample decreases,and the failure mode changes from local failure to overall failure. The research results can provide reference for fur-ther understanding the mechanical properties of gashydrate bearing coal.
