Application of Infrared Thermography on the Treatment of Adolescent Idiopathic Scoliosis
Objective:To analyze the clinical efficacy of infrared thermography on the treatment of adolescent idiopathic scoliosis.Methods:78 adolescent patients with idiopathic scoliosis were randomly divided into observation group and control group with 39 cases each. The control group was treated with customized brace and Schros gymnastics exercise training. The observation group was treated with customized brace and Schros gymnastics exercise under infrared thermography assisted monitoring, once a week for 24 weeks. The Cobb angle, visual analogue scale(VAS)score and quality of life score SRS-22 were compared before treatment and the 1 month,3 months and 6 months after treatment. Results:There was no significant difference in Cobb angle,VAS score and SRS-22 score between the two groups before treatment(P>0.05).After treatment, the Cobb angle,VAS score and SRS-22 score in the observation group were significantly decreased or decreased(P<0.01),while those in the control group were some-what decreased or decreased(P<0.05).Cobb angle and SRS-22 scores were significantly different between the two groups(P<0.05)after 3 months of treatment between the observation group and the control group, and statistically significant after 6 months of treatment(P<0.01).There was statistically significant difference in VAS scores between the observation group and the con-trol group after 6 months of treatment(P<0.05).Conclusion:With the support of dynamic monitoring of infrared thermography, the treatment of adolescent idiopathic scoliosis with customized brace combined with Schros gymnastics training can achieve better results.
