Professor Zhou Fuyi's Clinical Experience in Treating Gouty Arthritis
Gouty arthritis is a clinically common metabolic disease caused by abnormal purine metabolism and excretion,high blood uric acid concentration,and deposition of urate salts around the joints,leading to local inflammation.Professor Zhou Fuyi has unique experience in the treatment of gout and believes that the root cause of gouty joint disease is the en-dogenous"phlegm evil"caused by abnormal body fluid metabolism.He advocates that the treatment should be based on the principle of"promoting Qi and transforming phlegm"according to the syndrome.Professor Zhou Fuyi believes that the treatment of this disease can be divided into three stages and four syndromes:the attack stage,the remission stage,and the gout stone stage.The syndrome types are divided into phlegm heat accumulation syndrome,Qi stagnation phlegm accumu-lation syndrome,blood stasis phlegm coagulation syndrome,and spleen deficiency phlegm accumulation syndrome.Treat-ment involves clearing heat and resolving phlegm,promoting Qi and blood circulation,promoting Qi and resolving phlegm,unblocking collaterals and resolving phlegm,and strengthening the spleen and resolving phlegm.
