Effects of Shenfuhuang Decoction on IL-33/ST2 Axis in Different Brain Regions of Septic Mice
Objective:To investigate the effects of Shenfuhuang Decoction(SFHD)on interleukin-33(IL-33)/ST2 axis in different brain regions of septic mice.Methods:C57BL/6 mice were randomly divided into control group, sepsis group and SFHD group. The sepsis model was established by cecal ligation and puncture(CLP)in the sepsis group and the SFHD group. The SFHD group was given 2.5 g/kg SFHD twice a day by intragastric ad-ministration,with an intragastric volume of 0.5 mL.The sepsis group and the control group were given 0.5 mL pure water by gavage twice a day.Clinical grading was used to evaluate the clinical index of mice, neurological function grading was used to evaluate the neurological function index, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay was used to evaluate the content of IL-33 and ST2 in the prefrontal cortex and hippocampus of mice in each group. Results:Compared with the control group, the clinical index was increased and neurological function index of the mice was decreased in the sepsis group(P<0.05),and the expressions of IL-33 and ST2 proteins in the pre-frontal cortex and hippocampus were significantly increased(P<0.05).Compared with the sepsis group, the clini-cal index was decreased and neurological function index was increased of the SFHD group(P<0.05),the expres-sions of IL-33 was significantly increased(P<0.05),and the expression of ST2 protein was significantly decreased in the preforntal and hippocampus(P<0.05).Conclusion:SFHD has a certain protective effects on the clinical symptoms and neurological function of CLP mice, and its mechanism may be related to the regulation of IL-33/ST2 axis.
