Effect of Fuzheng Touxie Jiedu Huayu Decoction on Inflammatory Injury in Elderly Rats with Multidrug-resistant Pseudomonas Aeruginosa Pneumonia
Objective:To explore the effect of Fuzheng Touxie Jiedu Huayu Decoction on inflammatory damage in elderly rats with multidrug-resistant Pseudomonas aeruginosa(MDRPA)pneumonia at different time points.Methods:Elderly SD rats were divided into blank group(BG),model group,western medicine group,traditional Chinese medicine group,traditional Chinese medicine early administration group,and combination of Chinese and western medicine treatment group.In addition to BG,MDRPA pneumonia models were established by using oral tracheal intubation method,and the death protection rate and life extension rate of rats in each group were ob-served.Rat serum and lung tissue samples were taken at different time points after infection,and ELISA kits were used to determine the serum TNF-α and IL-10 levels of each group at different times.And each group's lung tis-sue,including bronchi and alveoli,were observed under microscopy.On the third day after infection,lung tissue samples were taken and the ultrastructure of lung tissue in each group was observed under electron microscopy.Results:Traditional Chinese medicine early administration group and combination of Chinese and western medi-cine treatment group had a higher mortality protection rate and life extension rate.The combination of Chinese and western medicine treatment group could significantly reduce the TNF-α level in serum and improve the IL-10 lev-el in serum of the elderly rat pneumonia model caused by MDRPA infection,and the effect was better than west-ern medicine group.Meanwhile,it showed a decrease in inflammatory cell infiltration and a significant reduction in lung tissue damage.Traditional Chinese medicine early administration group could increase the anti-inflammato-ry factor IL-10 in the early inflammatory response and reduce the pro-inflammatory factors TNF-α.Conclusion:Fuzheng Touxie Jiedu Huayu Decoction has a high mortality protection rate and life extension rate for MDRPA pneumonia in the elderly rats.The combination of this formula and ceftazidime can correct the disordered inflam-matory state after infection with MDRPA and alleviating lung tissue damage during the most severe inflammatory response.Early administration can alleviate inflammatory reactions in the early stage of infection and play a protec-tive role,which is important in maintaining the body's immune homeostasis.
