Effect of Biguan Zhike Decoction in the Treatment of Type 2 Diabetic Ketoacidosis Cases with Syndrome of Yin Deficiency and Heat Excess
Objective:To investigate the efficacy of Biguan Zhike Decoction in the treatment of type 2 diabetic Ketoacidosis(DKA)cases with syndrome of yin deficiency and heat excess. Methods:A total of 104 cases of type 2 DKA patients with syndrome of yin deficiency and heat excess were screened, and 52 cases were divided in-to the two groups by random number table method. Both groups received conventional treatment;the control group was given with insulin and fluid, and the observation group was given Biguan Zhike Decoction on the basis of the control group. The two groups were continuously observed for 1 week. The improvement of routine indexes and aci-dosis indexes of type 2 DKA,therapeutic effect and oxidative stress reaction were compared between the two groups. Results:The time of blood glucose normalization, ketone body disappearance and acidosis correction in the observation group were significantly reduced compared with control group(P<0.05).After 1 week of treat-ment,hydrogen ion concentration index(pH)and carbon dioxide binding power(CO2CP)were significantly in-creased in both groups, while blood lactic acid and β-hydroxybutyric acid(β-HB)were significantly decreased, and the above indexes improved better in the observation group(P<0.05).After 1 week of treatment, the total ef-fective rate of observation group(96.15%)was significantly higher than that of control group(80.77%)(P<0.05).After 1 week of treatment, the levels of serum superoxide dismutase(SOD),glutathione peroxidase(GSH-Px)and total antioxidant capacity(TAC)in the two groups were significantly increased, and the increases were more signifi-cant in observation group(P<0.05).Conclusion:The efficacy of Biguan Zhike Decoction in the treatment of type 2 DKA cases with syndrome of yin deficiency and heat excess is obvious, which can promote disease improvement, correct acidosis, and reduce oxidative stress damage.
