Effect of Yujiang Paidu Decoction on NF-κB Signaling Pathway of Acute Rhinosinusitis Rats
Objective:To investigate the effect of Yujiang Paidu Decoction on the expression of NF-κB path-way-associated proteins in acute rhinosinusitis rats. Methods:The rat model of acute rhinosinusitis was estab-lished through unilateral nasal inoculation with Staphylococcus aureus. The effectiveness of the model was as-sessed based on the severity scale for acute rhinosinusitis.Rats were divided into the normal, model,Yujiang Pai-du Decoction and positive drug(Amoxicillin clarithromycin)groups. The pH value of nasal secretions in each group was determined.HE staining was employed to observe the histopathological alterations of nasal mucosa. The levels of TNF-α,IL-6,and IL-1 β in nasal lavage fluid and nasal mucosal supernatant were detected by ELI-SA.Rats with acute rhinosinusitis were subjected to Western blotting analysis to analyze the effect of Yujiang Pai-du Decoction on the expression levels of NF-κB signaling pathway-related proteins. Results:The acute rhinosi-nusitis rat inflammation model was successfully established.Compared with the model group, the pH value of the Yujiang Paidu Decoction and the positive drug group was significantly reduced(P<0.01),the pathological injury of nasal mucosa was significantly improved, the levels of TNF-α,IL-1 β,and IL-6 in nasal lavage fluid and nasal mucosa supernatant were significantly decreased(P<0.01)and the expression level of NF-κB related protein was significantly decreased(P<0.01).Conclusion:Yujiang Paidu Decoction can ameliorate the symptoms of acute rhinosinusitis by suppressing the expression of NF-κB related signaling proteins in rats with acute rhinosi-nusitis.
