Influence of Acupuncture Combined with NIPPV in Treating COPD with Type Ⅱ Respiratory Failure
Objective:To explore the influence of acupuncture combined with NIPPV on blood gas indicators and serum cystatin(Cys)C and β2-microglobulin(MG)in the treatment of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(COPD)with type Ⅱ respiratory failure. Methods:A total of 134 patients with COPD complicated with type Ⅱ re-spiratory failure.According to random lottery method, the patients were divided into control group and experimen-tal group, with 67 cases in each group. The control group was treated with NIPPV on the basis of conventional treatment, and the experimental group was given acupuncture on the basis of the control group. The TCM syn-dromes scores, blood gas indicators[power of hydrogen(pH),partial pressure of oxygen(PaO2),partial pressure of carbon dioxide(PaCO2),oxygenation index(SpO2)],kidney injury indicators(Cys C,β2-MG)and inflammatory in-dicators[serum interleukin(IL)-8,tumor necrosis factor(TNF)-α]before and after treatment were compared be-tween the two groups. The pulmonary function indicators[forced expiratory volume in the first second as a percent-age of predicted value(FEVl%pred),forced vital capacity as a percentage of predicted value(FVC%pred),FEVl/FVC]were observed after treatment. Results:After treatment, the TCM syndromes scores,PaCO2,serum IL-8 and TNF-α levels in both groups were declined compared with those before treatment, and the above indicators in ex-perimental group were lower than those in control group(P<0.05).The pH,PaO2 and SpO2 were enhanced in both groups compared to before treatment, and the indicators were significantly higher in experimental group than those in control group(P<0.05).The FEVl%pred,FVC%pred and FEVl/FVC in experimental group were higher while the levels of serum Cys C and β2-MG were lower than those in control group(P<0.05).There were no statistical-ly significant differences in the levels of serum Cys C and[32-MG in control group compared with those before treatment(P>0.05).Conclusion:Acupuncture combined with NIPPV in the treatment of patients with COPD and type Ⅱ respiratory failure can effectively improve the pulmonary function and blood gas parameters and alleviate the clinical symptoms by inhibiting inflammatory response and down-regulating Cys C and β2-MG levels.
