Clinical Efficacy Observation on Baiying Qingmai Mixture in Treating Acute Erysipelas
Objective:To observe the clinical efficacy of adding Baiyin Qingmai Mixture in the treatment of acute erysipelas. Methods:Clinical data of 66 patients with acute erysipelas admitted were retrospectively ana-lyzed.The patients were divided into an experimental group(n=33)and a control group(n=33)using the random number table method. The experimental group received additional oral administration of Baiyin Qingmai Mixture on top of conventional antibiotics and topical magnesium sulfate, while the control group received antibiotics and topical magnesium sulfate alone. The two groups were compared in terms of pain relief time, edema resolution time, hospitalization duration,TCM syndrome score, clinical efficacy, white blood cell count, percentage of neutro-phils,erythrocyte sedimentation rate(ESR),C-reactive protein(CRP)level, and long-term treatment outcome.Re-sults:The experimental group had shorter pain relief time, edema resolution time, and hospitalization duration compared with the control group(P<0.05).The TCM syndrome score was lower in the experimental group(P<0.05).The white blood cell count, percentage of neutrophils,ESR,and CRP level were lower in the experimental group compared with the control group.Follow-up results outside the hospital showed that the incidence of compli-cations(edema,pain,pigmentation,and lipodermatitis, ulceration)was lower in the experimental group, with statisti-cally significant differences(P<0.05).The recurrence rate over six months in the experimental group was lower than that in the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion:The addition of oral Baiying Qingmai Mixture in the treat-ment of acute erysipelas demonstrated significant clinical efficacy.
