Clinical Observation on Guizhi Gegen Decoction Combined with Acupuncture on Cervical Spondylosis
Objective:To observe the clinical efficacy of Guizhi Gegen Decoction combined with acupuncture in the treatment of cervical spondylosis(wind cold blockade type)patients.Methods:A total of 60 patients were randomly divided into two groups,with 30 patients in each group.The treatment group was given Guizhi Gegen De-coction combined with acupuncture treatment.The control group was given compound chlorzoxazone tablets,for 10 consecutive days as a course of treatment.Before and after treatment,the two groups were evaluated using the pain Visual Analog Scale(VAS),Neck Disability Index(NDI),traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)syndrome score,neck joint Range of Motion(ROM),and regular follow-up and clinical effects were observed and evaluated.Re-sults:The VAS scores,NDI scores,and TCM syndrome scores of the two groups decreased compared with before treatment(P＜0.05),while the ROM activity increased compared with before treatment(P＜0.05).Except for the TCM syndrome score,there was no statistically significant difference between the other two groups.Comparison of NDI scores between the two groups at 4 and 6 months after treatment showed significant differences(P＜0.05).Conclusion:Guizhi Gegen Decoction combined with acupuncture and oral compound chlorzoxazone tablets can al-leviate the clinical symptoms of patients with cervical spondylosis,and the combination of Guizhi Gegen Decoction and acupuncture therapy has a longer duration and more significant long-term therapeutic effect.
