Clinical Observation of Lumbar Manipulation Combined with Electroacupuncture in the Treatment of Acute Non-specific Lower Back Pain
Objective:To evaluate the efficacy of lumbar manipulation combined with electroacupuncture,guid-ed by the principle of"simultaneous treatment of muscle and bone",in treating acute non-specific low back pain. Methods:A total of 68 patients were randomly divided into two groups,34 cases in each group. The observation group received lumbar manipulation combined with electroacupuncture, while the control group received electroacu-puncture alone.Pain Visual Analogue Scale(VAS),Japanese Orthopaedic Association Back Pain Evaluation Ques-tionnaire(JOABPEQ),Oswestry Disability Index(ODI),finger-to-floor distance(FFD),and Schober's test dis-tance were evaluated before and 2 weeks after treatment. Results:After treatment, the VAS,JOABPEQ,ODI scores,FFD,and Schober's test distance improved in both groups compared with before treatment(P<0.05),with the observation group showing superior scores(P<0.05).Conclusion:Lumbar manipulation combined with elec-troacupuncture,guided by the principle of"simultaneous treatment of muscle and bone",is a more effective treat-ment for acute non-specific low back pain and deserves promotion.
