Clinical Observation of Tongfengshu Decoction Combined with External Application of Huli Powder in the Treatment of Acute Gouty Arthritiis
Objective:To observe the effect of Tongfengshu Decoction combined with Huli Powder on joint swell-ing and pain and laboratory indexes in patients with acute gouty arthritis(syndrome of accumulated dampness-heat),and to explore the curative effect of Tongfengshu Decoction combined with Huli Powder on acute gouty ar-thritis.Methods:A total of 90 patients with acute gouty arthritis were selected.According to the random number table method,they were divided into control group 1,control group 2 and observation group,with 30 cases in each group.The control group 1 was given basic treatment,the control group 2 was given basic treatment+Tongfengshu Decoction orally and the observation group was given basic treatment+Tongfengshu Decoction orally+Huli Pow-der for external application.Data on the degree of joint swelling and pain,serum uric acid levels,erythrocyte sedi-mentation rate,white blood cell counts,and C-reactive protein levels were collected before and 1 week after treat-ment,the data were analyzed to evaluate the clinical efficacy of Tongfengshu Decoction combined with external ap-plication of Huli Powder in the treatment of acute gouty arthritis.Results:The effect of reducing swelling and pain in the observation group was better than that in the two control groups(P＜0.05).In terms of laboratory index-es,the levels of uric acid,erythrocyte sedimentation rate,white blood cell count and C-reactive protein in the ob-servation group were significantly better than those in the control group 1(P＜0.05),but there was no significant difference between the observation group and the control group 2(P＞0.05).Conclusion:Tongfengshu Decoction combined with Huli Powder can significantly improve joint swelling and pain in patients with acute gouty arthritis(syndrome of accumulated dampness-heat),relieve clinical symptoms,reduce serum uric acid level and anti-in-flammatory effect.
