Observation on the Efficacy of Tongdu Xingshen Acupuncture in Treating Acute Ischemic Stroke
Objective:To explore the clinical efficacy of the Tongdu Xingshen acupuncture in treating acute ischemic stroke.Methods:A total of 102 patients with acute ischemic stroke admitted to the Department of Reha-bilitation Medicine at Foshan Fuxing Chancheng Hospital from January 2021 to June 2023 were randomly divided into a control group and an acupuncture group.The control group received conventional western medical treatment,while the acupuncture group was additionally treated with the Tongdu Xingshen acupuncture.The treatment dura-tion was two weeks.Changes in NIH Stroke Scale(NIHSS)scores,Fugl-Meyer Assessment(FMA)scores,Barthel Index(BI),Stroke-Specific Quality of Life Scale(SS-QOL),cerebral hemodynamics[diastolic end blood flow ve-locity(Vd),systolic peak blood flow velocity(Vs),mean blood flow velocity(Vm)of the basilar artery],and serum inflammatory factors[tumor necrosis factor-alpha(TNF-α),interleukin-1(IL-1),high-sensitivity C-reactive pro-tein(Hs-CRP)]were compared between the two groups.The overall effective rates were statistically analyzed for both groups.Results:After treatment,the NIHSS scores decreased in both groups(P＜0.05),with the acupuncture group showing a lower score than the control group(P＜0.05).FMA balance function,FMA motor function,BI scores,SS-QOL scores,and cerebral arterial Vd,Vs,and Vm increased in both groups(P＜0.05),with higher val-ues in the acupuncture group compared with the control group(P＜0.05).Serum TNF-α,IL-1,and Hs-CRP lev-els decreased in both groups(P＜0.05),with lower levels in the acupuncture group(P＜0.05).The overall effective rate was higher in the acupuncture group(94.12％)than in the control group(80.39％)(P＜0.05).Conclusion:Tongdu Xingshen acupuncture in treating acute ischemic stroke can improve neurological deficits,enhance cerebral blood flow velocities,improve quality of life,and reduce inflammatory responses.
