Effect of External Application of Ruyi Jinhuang Powder Combined with Agkistrodon Halys Antivenom on Wound Healing and Limb Swelling in Patients with Agkistrodon Halys Bite
Objective:To explore the effect of external application of Ruyi Jinhuang Powder combined with Ag-kistrodon halys antivenom on wound healing and limb swelling in patients with Agkistrodon halys bites. Methods:A total of 100 patients with Agkistrodon halys bites admitted were randomly divided into a control group(n=50)and a study group(n=50)using a random number table method. The control group received routine treatment and subcutaneous injection of Agkistrodon halys antivenom, while the study group received external application of Ruyi Jinhuang Powder on this basis. The therapeutic effects, visual analogue scale(VAS)scores, wound healing, limb condition, and inflammation levels[white blood cell count(WBC),C-reactive protein(CRP),and coagulation func-tion[prothrombin time(PT),activated partial thromboplastin time(APTT)]were compared between two groups. Results:The total effective rate of the study group was higher than that of the control group(P<0.05).The VAS score and wound area of the study group after treatment were lower than those of the control group(P<0.05);the wound healing rate of the study group was higher than that of the control group, and the average healing time was shorter than that of the control group(all P<0.05).After treatment, the difference in limb circumference between the study group and the control group was higher, and the scores of limb mobility disorders were lower than those of the control group;the swelling recovery time was shorter in the study group than in the control group(all P<0.05).The levels of WBC,CRP,PT,and APTT in the study group were all lower than the control group after treat-ment(all P<0.05).Conclusion:The combination of Ruyi Jinhuang Powder and Agkistrodon halys antivenom can promote wound healing, accelerate the elimination of limb swelling, alleviate pain, and improve therapeutic effects in patients with Agkistrodon halys bites.
