Objective:To observe and analyze the effectiveness and safety of topical application of Furong oint-ment in the treatment of early acute mastitis.Methods:A total of 88 patients with early acute mastitis were ran-domly divided into a control group and an observation group,each with 44 cases.The observation group was treat-ed with topical application of Furong ointment,while the control group was treated with topical application of Ruyi Jinhuang ointment.Both groups received treatment for 3 days.The scope of breast lumps,the extent of breast ery-thema and swelling,Visual Analog Scale(VAS)scores,and changes in lactation smoothness were compared and an-alyzed to evaluate the clinical efficacy of both groups.Results:The overall effective rate in the observation group was 95.34％,and 90.24％in the control group and there was no statistically significant difference between the two groups(P＞0.05).After treatment,the scope of breast lumps and erythema and swelling in both groups decreased,VAS scores for pain decreased,and lactation smoothness improved(P＜0.05);the improvement in the scope of breast lumps,breast pain scores,and lactation smoothness was more significant in the observation group compared with the control group(P＜0.05).Conclusion:Topical application of Furong ointment can effectively alleviate breast lumps and skin erythema and swelling,relieve breast pain,and improve lactation smoothness in patients with early acute mastitis,showing good clinical efficacy.
