Clinical Study on the Treatment of Knee Osteoarthritis Using Acupuncture Combined with Whole Body Vibration Training
Objective:To observes the clinical effects of acupuncture combined with whole body vibration train-ing in the treatment of knee osteoarthritis(KO A)patients and to provide new insights for clinical treatment.Meth-ods:This study included 60 patients with KOA who met the inclusion criteria and were randomly divided into two groups. The control group received only acupuncture treatment, while the treatment group received additional whole body vibration training on top of acupuncture.By comparing the Visual Analogue Scale(VAS)scores,West-ern Ontario and McMaster Universities Osteoarthritis Index(WOMAC)scores,6-minute walk test(6MWT),and range of motion(ROM)of the knee joint before and after treatment between the two groups, the treatment effects were evaluated, and statistical analysis was performed. Results:After 4 weeks of treatment, both treatment regi-mens significantly improved VAS scores,WOMAC scores,6-minute walking distance, and knee joint ROM(P<0.01).Within 1~4 weeks of treatment, the ROM of the treatment group was significantly better than that of the con-trol group(P<0.01);within 2-4 weeks of treatment, the VAS score of the treatment group was significantly lower than that of the control group(P<0.01);within 3~4 weeks of treatment, the WOMAC score of the treatment group was significantly lower than that of the control group, and the 6MWT results were significantly better than those of the control group(P<0.01).Conclusion:Acupuncture combined with whole body vibration training is a safe and effective treatment method that can accelerate the improvement of pain level, joint function, and quality of life in patients with KOA.
