Efficacy of Xiaoji Granules Combined with Traditional Chinese Medicine Hot Compress in Treating Patients with Acute Pelvic Inflammatory Disease
Objective:To observe the efficacy of Xiaoji granules combined with traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)hot compress for patients with acute pelvic inflammatory disease(APID)and its effect on serum high-sen-sitivity C-reactive protein(hs-CRP),interleukin-6(IL-6),and carbohydrate antigen 125(CA125).Methods:To-tally 67 patients with APID were randomly divided into two groups,the control group(n=34)and observation group(n=34).The control group was given anti-infection and TCM hot compress treatment;on the basis,Xiaoji Granules was added to the patients in observation group.The course for both groups was 2 weeks.The relief time of clinical symptoms and signs of the two groups were compared,the changes in TCM syndrome scores were evalu-ated,changes in pelvic fluid accumulation and the serum hs-CRP,IL-6,and CA125 levels were detected.Re-sults:The symptoms of TCM after treatment were significantly reduced in the two groups,simultaneously accompa-nied by significant decrease in total scores(P＜0.05),and the scores in the observation group had significant de-creases than those in the control group(P＜0.05).Compared with the control group,the average time for symptom relief or disappearance(abdominal pain,fever,abnormal vaginal discharge)in the observation group were signifi-cantly shortened(P＜0.05).After treatment,both groups showed significant decrease in the depth of pelvic fluid ac-cumulation(P＜0.05),and the observation group received more decrease(P＜0.05).After treatment,the serum hs-CRP,IL-6,and CA125 levels in both groups were significantly reduced compared with baseline values(P＜0.05);compared with the control group,the levels in observation group showed a more significant decrease(P＜0.05).The total effective rate in the observation group was 96.97％,which showed significant increase than 82.35％of the control group(P＜0.05).Conclusion:Application of Xiaoji Granules combined with TCM hot compress for APID patients can regulate the levels of serum hs-CRP,IL-6,and CA125,which can promote the relief of clinical symptoms,and improve the treatment effect.
