Clinical Observation of Puji Xiaodu Decoction Combined with Jinhuang Powder Topical Application in the Treatment of Subacute Thyroiditis
Objective:To observe the clinical efficacy of Puji Xiaodu Decoction combined with Jinhuang Pow-der topical application in the treatment of subacute thyroiditis(SAT).Methods:82 patients were randomly divid-ed into two groups,each with 41 cases.The control group received conventional treatment,while the observation group received additional treatment with Puji Xiaodu Decoction combined with Jinhuang Powder topical applica-tion.The therapeutic effects of both groups were observed.Results:The observation group showed significantly better improvement in TCM syndrome scores compared to the control group(P＜0.05);the time for clinical symp-tom resolution was significantly shorter in the observation group than in the control group(P＜0.05);after treat-ment,the levels of T3 and T4 in the observation group were significantly lower,and the level of TSH was signifi-cantly higher than in the control group(P＜0.05);after treatment,the erythrocyte sedimentation rate(ESR),C-reac-tive protein(CRP),and interleukin-6(IL-6)levels in the observation group were significantly lower than in the control group(P＜0.05).Conclusion:Adding Puji Xiaodu Decoction combined with Jinhuang Powder topical ap-plication to conventional treatment can significantly alleviate SAT symptoms,promote the resolution of fever,thy-roid enlargement,and anterior neck pain,and is better in regulating hyperthyroid function compared with conven-tional western medicine treatment alone.The mechanism may be related to the ability of Puji Xiaodu Decoction to significantly reduce the levels of SAT-related inflammatory factors and inhibit inflammatory responses.
