Exploration of the Usage and Dosage of Shaoyao Gancao Decoction in the Treatment of Eyelid Tremors
Eyelid tremors represent a challenging clinical condition significantly impacting the emotional state and life quality of affected individuals.Current clinical treatment options are limited in Western Medicine, often relying on surgery which can lead to frequent recurrence and substantial damage.Traditional Chinese Medicine offers a treatment approach with fewer adverse effects and stable efficacy.Shaoyao Gancao Decoction is primarily used for liver-spleen Yin deficiency syndrome, which aligns with one of the pathological factors of eyelid tremors, namely liver-spleen Yin deficiency. This correlation constitutes a convergence point with the prescription of Shaoyao Gancao Decoction. Therefore, following the principle of treating different diseases with the same method, this formula represents a clinical approach integrating disease identification and syndrome differentiation.Through a literature review considering ancient and modern measurement unit conversions,it is concluded that an effective clinical outcome in treating this condition requires a dosage of at least 60 g of Paeonia lactiflora Pall(Radix Paeoniae Alba)and Glycyrrhizae Radix Et Rhizoma Praeparata Cum Melle. This paper summarizes the clinical experience of Shaoyao Gancao Decoction, providing evidence from literature on its feasibility and rationality in treating eyelid tremors from the perspectives of the prescription rationale and dosage considerations.
