The Exploration of Clinical Applications of the Correspondence Between Meridian Circulation and the Eight regions
The eight regions theory is one of the traditional theories in Ophthalmology of Traditional Chinese Medicine,with its theoretical foundation originating from the Huangdi Neijing.It began to be systematized during the Song dynasty and gradually took shape during the Ming and Qing dynasties.Currently,there are various interpretations of the eight regions theory in ancient books.This article explores the correspondence between meridians and acupoints around the eyes through a historical retrospective of the eight regions theory,incorporating knowledge of the five elements and eight trigrams.It determines the positional distribution of eight regions,providing an analytical process to enhance the reliability and applicability of the eight regions theory.Currently applied in clinical practice,the article references clinical cases and combines the analytical process to investigate its guiding significance in the diagnosis and treatment of eye diseases.
