Research Progress on the Treatment of Dry Eye with Xiaoyao Powder and Its Similar Prescriptions
In recent years,the prevalence of dry eye has been steadily increasing,affecting the quality of life for an increasing number of people.Xiaoyao Powder,with its efficacy of soothing liver and nourishing blood,has a long history of treating eye diseases.In recent years,its applica-tion in the treatment of dry eye has gradually expanded.This article summarizes the clinical prog-ress of prescriptions based on Xiaoyao Powder with modifications in treating common dry eye,peri-menopausal dry eye,diabetic dry eye,and meibomian gland dysfunction dry eye.It is observed that Xiaoyao Powder and similar prescriptions show significant efficacy in treating various types of dry eye.The mechanisms of action involve the regulation of related inflammatory factors,the im-pact on sex hormones,the increase in goblet cell count,and the reduction of corneal epithelial cell apoptosis,highlighting their significant clinical application value.
