Research Progress on the Clinical Efficacy of Chinese Medicine Fumigation in the Treatment of Dry Eye
Dry eye,a common ophthalmic disorder,has seen an increasing prevalence with the rise in the use of video terminals.Western Medicine predominantly focuses on enhancing the quality of tears to stabilize the tear film and improving the ocular microenvironment to alleviate dry eye discomfort.In recent years,there has been continuous improvement and development in Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM)appropriate technologies.This paper,through a review of rel-evant literature on TCM treatments for dry eye,reveals that TCM fumigation therapy is becoming increasingly sophisticated.Furthermore,it can be integrated with acupuncture,ear acupressure,oral Chinese medicines,meibomian gland massage,and Western Medicine treatments,each show-casing its strengths.These integrative approaches have demonstrated positive outcomes in clinical practice,effectively alleviating patient discomfort symptoms and reducing recurrence rates.This study provides valuable insights for the clinical management of dry eye.
