Visual Analysis of Journal Literature on the Treatment of Ocular Myasthenia Gravis by Traditional Chinese Medicine in the Past Ten Years
OBJECTIVE To study the research status of Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM)in the treatment of ocular myasthenia gravis(OMG).METHODS The relevant literature on the treatment of OMG with TCM was retrieved from electronic databases from January 1st,2013 to December 31st,2022 including CNKI,Wanfang and VIP databases.The data was exported in Refworks format and analyzed using COOC 13.3 and VOSviewer 1.6.13 software for statistical analysis,network construction,and cluster analysis.RESULTS(1)General situation:A total of 40 articles were included,published in 30 journals,authored by 127 researchers from 48 institutions,with 66 keywords used.(2)Published age distribution:The majority of articles were published in 2021(eight articles,20.00%),followed by 2016(six articles,15.00%),2018(five articles,12.50%),2022,and 2013(each four articles,10.00%).(3)Distribution of source:The most common sources were"Chinese Journal of Traditional Chinese Ophthalmology""Chinese Journal of Integrative Medicine on Cardio-Cerebrovascular Disease",and"Hunan Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine".(4)Distribution of authors:Prominent authors included XU Baoyu,QI Guoyan,YUAN Hui and LI Lijun,and formed three collaborative research groups.(5)Distribution of research institutions:Institutions such as Xiyuan Hospital of China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences and The First Hospital of Shijiazhuang were notable.(6)Keyword Frequency:The top five keywords were OMG(38 times,23.90%),acupuncture(13 times,8.18%),TCM(11 times,6.92%),expert experience and clinical efficacy(each six times,3.77%),and formed five clusters.CONCLUSIONS Research on TCM treatment of OMG is primarily related to acupuncture and herbal treatment methods,as well as efficacy evaluation.There has been no significant breakthrough in the past decade,indicating a need for increased attention,collaboration and improvement in research quality.
