Experience of REN Zheng in Treatment of Retinal Vein Occlusion Based on"Blood Stasis"
Retinal vein occlusion(RVO)belongs to the category of"acute blindness"in Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM),with complex etiology. It is a common retinal vascular disease that can lead to blindness.RVO often results in recurrent bleeding and edema, severely affecting visual function.Due to the limitations of current treatment methods, the prognosis and efficacy of treatment vary.TCM's diagnostic and therapeutic principles have unique features in the treatment of this disease, which can shorten the course of the disease, promote the resolution of edema, and improve visual function.REN Zheng summarized and analyzed the etiology and pathogenesis of this disease, believed that RVO is attributed to"stagnation"and proposed that treatment should focus on"circulation".Therefore, clinically,it is classified into patterns of liver depression transforming into fire, kidney Yin deficiency leading to fire, and phlegm-dampness stagnation, each requiring different treatment approaches.Good therapeutic effects have been achieved, and this article summarizes the experiences, accompanied by clinical cases, aiming to provide guidance for the clinical diagnosis and treatment of the disease.
