A Brief Analysis of FU Renyu's Shenshi Yaohan-Shibing Bianzheng Xiangming Jinyufu
Shenshi Yaohan-Shibing Bianzheng Xiangming Jinyufu written by FU Renyu,a renowned ophthalmologist of late Ming Dynasty,is a masterpiece in diagnosis of Ophthalmology of Traditional Chinese Medicine.The aphorisms in this work are still widely used in various textbooks and publications today.This article categorizes and organizes the relevant aphorisms based on the affected eye areas such as eyelids,canthi,and sclera,as well as eye symptoms such as vision,redness,and pain,to facilitate readers'reference and memorization.Furthermore,it objectively evaluates its shortcomings such as inappropriate disease names,inconsistency between diseases and pathogenesis,and mixed content arrangement,in conjunction with modern disease understanding and the model of disease-syndrome combination.Despite its flaws,the poetic style and key points of diseases in FU Renyu's work provide valuable information for beginners in ophthalmology,both in ancient and modern times.
