Exploring the Application of Viscera Differentiation in Primary Retinitis Pigmentosa Based on the Theory of Five Wheels Theory
Primary retinitis pigmentosa(RP)is an eye disease characterized by progressive night blindness, narrowing of the visual field, and continuous decline in vision.Due to its irreversible nature,it is considered one of the common causes of blindness.According to Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM),the pathogenesis of this disease is rooted in deficiency of liver and kidney, with the pathological nature predominantly being deficiency with stagnation. The five wheels theory is one of the important theories in ophthalmology of TCM,providing a core theoretical basis for the diagnosis and treatment of RP in later generations of ophthalmology of TCM.This article aims to explore the clinical application of five wheels theory in the treatment of RP,using the theory of viscera differentiation,to distinguish the pathogenesis, deepen understanding, and provide new clinical ideas and methods for the diagnosis and treatment of this disease.
