Observation of the Efficacy of Perioperative Rapid Recovery Nursing Combined with Postoperative Continuation Nursing in Pterygium Surgery
OBJECTIVE To explore the efficacy of rapid perioperative rehabilitation nursing combined with postoperative continuation nursing intervention in patients with pterygium undergoing surgical treatment.METHODS A total of 70 primary pterygium patients undergoing pterygium excision combined with limbal stem cell transplantation surgery in the Department of Ophthalmology,Bozhou Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine from September 2020 to August 2021 were selected and randomly divided into an observation group and a control group, with 35 cases each(35 eyes).Patients in the control group were given routine perioperative care measures in ophthalmology, while those in the observation group received rapid perioperative rehabilitation nursing combined with postoperative continuation nursing on the basis of the control group.Visual analog scale scores were used to assess postoperative eye pain, and patient recovery, ocular surface status, and nursing satisfaction were evaluated.Tear film break-up time(BUT)was measured, and the recurrence of pterygium was observed 12 months after surgery.RESULTS(1)Pain,nursing satisfaction, and recovery:There was no significant difference in pain scores between the two groups at six hours postoperatively(P>0.05).The pain scores of the observation group were lower than those of the control group at one day and two days postoperatively(Z1 d=-2.842,P=0.004;Z2 d=-2.403,P=0.016),and the nursing satisfaction scores of the observation group were higher than those of the control group(Z=3.025,P=0.002).The total recovery scores of the observation group were lower than those of the control group at two days and seven days postoperatively(Z2 d=-2.736,P=0.006;Z7 d=-3.605,P=0.000),with significant differences.(2)BUT:There was no significant difference in BUT between the two groups before surgery(P>0.05).BUT at seven days and 28 days postoperatively was longer than preoperative values in both groups(Observation group:t7 d=7.524,t28 d=9.168,both P=0.000.Control group:t7 d=4.376,t28 d=3.433,both P=0.000).BUT at seven days and 28 days postoperatively was longer in the observation group than in the control group(t7 d=2.135,P=0.036;t28 d=3.059,P=0.003),with significant differences.(3)Ocular surface status:There was no significant difference in ocular surface status scores between the two groups at one month postoperatively(P>0.05).However,at three months and six months postoperatively, the ocular surface status scores of the observation group were lower than those of the control group, with significant differences(Z3 mon=-2.823,P=0.005;Z6 mon=-3.279,P=0.001).(4)Recurrence rate:The recurrence rate in the observation group was 5.71%,lower than 22.86%in the control group, with a statistically significant difference(χ2=4.200,P=0.040).CONCLUSIONS For primary pterygium patients undergoing surgical treatment, the combination of rapid perioperative rehabilitation nursing and postoperative continuation nursing intervention can relieve postoperative pain, promote recovery, reduce recurrence rate, and improve prognosis.
