As an ophthalmic condition with a rising incidence rate,dry eye significantly impacts patients'vision and quality of life.Western Medicine views its etiology and pathogenesis as complex,with suboptimal therapeutic efficacy.Based on the theory of"One Qi Circulation",combined with the"Five Wheels Theory,"this paper posits that the etiology and pathogenesis of dry eye are primarily due to the failure of spleen earth to ascend,the inability of lung metal to clear and descend,the stagnation of liver wood,the heat transformation of heart fire injuring fluids,and the failure of kidney to store Yang within Kan.The treatment should focus on strengthening spleen,moistening lung,soothing liver,nourishing heart,and enriching kidney,while also considering the interrelations among the Zangfu organs to restore the physiological pattern of"One Qi Circulation".This approach may provide a reference for the Traditional Chinese Medicine treatment of dry eye.
