Research Progress on the Theory of"Preventive Treatment of Disease"and Artificial Intelligence in the Prevention and Treatment of Diabetic Retinopathy
Diabetic retinopathy(DR)is a common ocular complication of diabetes and is not only a prevalent cause of blindness,but also a leading cause of vision loss among middle-aged and elderly people worldwide.DR is preventable,and the integration of the Traditional Chinese Medi-cine(TCM)concept of"preventive treatment of disease"with modern artificial intelligence(AI)technology can provide a more convenient and feasible approach for DR prevention.This paper ex-plores the guiding role of the"preventive treatment of disease"theory in DR prevention and treat-ment,and discusses the advancements and limitations of AI in the practical application of DR pre-vention.It emphasizes the significance of combining the"preventive treatment of disease"theory with AI technology in the prevention and treatment of DR.The integration of these two approaches offers new insights and methods for the prevention and treatment of DR,leveraging the advantages of TCM's preventive approach and the efficiency and accuracy of AI technology.This combination can more effectively facilitate DR prevention and treatment in clinical practice,thereby reducing the risk of DR occurrence and effectively protecting patients'vision health.
