Pipa Qingcuo Formula Combined with Alternating Red and Blue Light Irradiation in the Treatment of Acne Vulgaris
Objective To investigate the efficacy of Pipa Qingcuo formula combined with alternating red and blue light irradiation in the treatment of acne vulgaris and its impact on skin barrier function. Methods From January 2021 to January 2023,82 patients with acne vulgaris admitted to Shanxian Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine were selected and divided into the observation group of 41 cases and the control group of 41 cases. The control group was only irradiated with alternating red and blue light, while the observation group was combined with Pipa Qingcuo formula on the basis of the control group. Both groups of patients continued to receive treatment for 4 weeks. The clinical efficacy of the two groups of patients, the changes in TCM syndrome scores, skin barrier function, and skin oil secretion before and after treatment were observed. Results The total effective rate of observation group was 92.68%(38/41),which was higher than that of control group(75.61%,31/41)(P<0.05).After treatment,TCM syndrome scores in both groups were lower than before treatment, and observation group was lower than control group(P<0.05).Skin transdermal water loss,pH value and skin oil content in both groups were lower than before treatment, and cuticle water content was higher than before treatment, and the improvement of all in-dexes in the observation group was better than that in the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion Pipa Qingcuo formula combined with al-ternating red and blue light irradiation can accelerate the repair of skin barrier function and improve clinical efficacy.
