Modern medicine has made more progress in the pathogenesis of insomnia.Insomnia belongs to the category of"sleepless-ness"in traditional Chinese medicine.The doctors of the past dynasties have a rich understanding of insomnia,and have different dis-cussions on this disease.The authors combed through the relevant literature in recent years and found that the clinical experience of doctors is very different from that of syndrome differentiation,the clinical standard of diagnosis and treatment is lacking,and syndrome differentiation is confined to a single dialectical theory.Therefore,authors hope to sum up the combination of traditional Chinese medi-cine and Western medicine and pathogenesis of sleeplessness to provide assistance in clinical diagnosis and treatment.
