Effect of acupuncture combined with hyperbaric oxygen therapy on rehabilitation of patients with spontaneous cerebral hemorrhage after minimally invasive surgery
Objective To observe the rehabilitation effect of acupuncture combined with hyperbaric oxygen therapy on patients with spontaneous cerebral hemorrhage after minimally invasive surgery. Methods This study was a randomized controlled clinical study.A total of sixty patients with spontaneous cerebral hemorrhage treated with endoscopy in the Department of Neurosurgery of Shuguang Hospital affiliated to Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine from July 2019 to June 2022 were selected as the research subjects, and were divided into control group and experimental group, according to the random number table method, with 30 patients in each group. The control group was treated with acupuncture, and the experimental group was treated with acupuncture combined with hyperbaric oxygen therapy. Both groups were treated continuously for three weeks. The Glasgow outcome scale extended(GOSE),modified Rankin scale(mRS),Barthel index(BI),National Institutes of Health stroke scale(NIHSS)scores, serum brain-derived neurotrophic factor(BDNF),and central nervous system specific protein S100β levels were compared between the two groups before and after treatment. Results After treatment, the scores of GOSE and BI in both groups were significantly increased, while the scores of mRS and NIHSS were significantly decreased in both groups. After treatment, the scores of GOSE and BI in the experimental group were significantly higher than those in the control group, while the scores of mRS and NIHSS in the experimental group were significantly lower than those in the control group(P<0.05).After treatment, the serum levels of BDNF in both groups were significantly increased, while the serum level of S100β in both groups were significantly decreased. After treatment, the serum level of BDNF in the experimental group was significantly higher than that in the control group, and the serum level of S100β in the experimental group was significantly lower than that in the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion Acupuncture combined with hyperbaric oxygen therapy can better promote the recovery of neurological function and improve quality of life and neurological function of the patients with spontaneous cerebral hemorrhage after minimally invasive surgery.
