Current status and influencing factors of career success of senior nurses in tertiary hospitals in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region
Objective To investigate the career success status of senior nurses in tertiary hospitals in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region,and to analyze its influencing factors.Methods From December 2021 to March 2022,a self-designed general information questionnaire and career success scale were used to survey 3 088 senior nurses in tertiary hospitals in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region.Results The career success scores of 3 088 senior nurses were(31.22±6.70),and the results of multiple linear stepwise regression analysis showed that pediatrics(with internal medicine as a reference),salary satisfaction,physical condition,the situation of external training and education,career planning,satisfaction with their work status,worries about future career development,experience of participating in scientific research projects,the department or position they most want to go was administrative departments(with none as a reference)or auxiliary departments(with none as a reference),and the biggest challenge in the work was unclear career development(with insufficient physical strength as a reference)or dissatisfaction with leadership style(with insufficient physical strength as a reference)were the influencing factors of the career success score of senior nurses(P<0.05),which explained 25.7%of the total variation.Conclusion The career success level of senior nurses in Inner Mongolia tertiary hospitals needs to be improved,and it is affected by various factors.Nursing managers should pay attention to the group of senior nurses and implement targeted measures to address the factors that affect their career success level,thereby improving their career success level.
