Design and preliminary application of knowledge graph for the Introduction to Nursing course
Objective To develop and preliminarily apply a knowledge graph for the Introduction to Nursing. Methods To address the issue of integrating and constructing the knowledge system of the Introduction to Nursing, with the support of knowledge graph technology,we designed and constructed a knowledge graph for the Introduction to Nursing course. We initially applied it to the teaching of 298 undergraduate nursing students, and evaluated its effectiveness based on the total time per student spent on learning knowledge points, the degree of mastery of completed content, and course satisfaction and theoretical scores. Results The knowledge graph of the Introduction to Nursing course constructed included a total of 90 knowledge topics, covering 5 knowledge learning relationships. The total learning time per capita of 298 students was 20.8 h,84.9%of students met the standard for content mastery,90.3%of students rated the course knowledge graph as very satisfactory overall,88.6%of students rated the presentation of knowledge graph course content as very satisfactory,79.9%of students were very satisfied with the learning methods and forms of knowledge graphs. The theoretical assessment scores of students in 2022 were significantly higher than those of students in 2020(P<0.05).Conclusion The curriculum knowledge map provides strong support for the online-offline teaching model,as it facilitates the enhancement of the student-centered teaching form, assists students in building a comprehensive curriculum knowledge system, and optimizes the teaching process.
