Research on the application of augmented reality fusion projection practical training platform in car accident rescue scenario simulation teaching for undergraduate nursing students
Objective To explore the application effect of an augmented reality(AR)-based fusion projection practical training platform in the large-scale traffic accident rescue scenario simulation teaching for undergraduate nursing students in the course of emergency and critical care. Methods Combining real-life cases with pre-hospital emergency teaching objectives and content,a large-scale traffic accident rescue scenario simulation teaching case was designed, including roles of casualties with different levels of injuries and rescue personnel. Also,an augmented reality fusion projection practical training platform was established.A total of 71 undergraduate nursing students participated in the teaching practice.Teaching evaluation was conducted through on-site teacher reviews,post-class test questions, teaching feedback and comments. Results Teachers'on-site reviews indicated that students in the practice group performed well in on-site rescues and achieved a high accuracy rate in injury detection, though still needed to strengthen the teamwork ability and to improve the attention to the silent wounded. The accuracy rate of students'post-lesson test questions was 97%.In feedback, five themes were extracted from students,namely"Inte-gration of theory and practice","Immersive participation in the first aid process","Cultivation of abilities and practice","Cognitive elevation and emotional engagement",and"Importance of integrating technology into education".Besides, students proposed three suggestions including"Improving the presentation of cases, teachers should demonstrate in advance","Assign tasks in advance to increase student participation opportunities",and"Expand course teaching content to enhance students'thinking abilities".Conclusion The AR-based fusion projection scenario simulation teaching can recreate real emergency scenes, stimulate students'interest in learning;integrate theoiy with practice to improve the effectiveness of practical teaching, and allow students to immerse themselves in first aid scenarios, compensating for deficiencies in traditional teaching methods.
