Since the implementation of the reform and opening-up policy,the emotional expression of Chinese parents has undergone significant changes.However,their conservative traits have become more prominent.Three conservative characteristics of emotional expression by Chinese parents have been identified in this article,namely:concealment,hierarchy,and ossification.Analyzing the impact of these traits on children's sense of security,intimate relationships,psychological and behavioral outcomes,we propose three pathways to achieve balance and optimization,namely,flexibly using expression methods to balance explicit and implicit communication,adjusting the mentality of inequality to balance identity and roles,and actively learning self-empowerment to balance stability and flexibility.
