Abstract
In order to investigate the impact of parental absence on the social behaviors of young people raised by their grandparents in rural areas, this study conducted in-depth interviews and comparative analyses based on the Body Sociology and Habermas'Action Theory. The findings revealed that young individuals raised by their grandparents in rural settings often experience"early weaning"phenomenon:the absence of parents results in a lack of physical presence, social interaction, and emotional support, leading to a weaker social foundation characterized by a lack of intimacy, feelings of inferiority, and a sense of insecurity. As a result, they encounter challenges such as ineffective intimate behaviors, helpless competitive behaviors, and hindered self-presentation,which may contribute to social anxiety and disorders.Grandparental care is a reflection of the current era,and in order to prevent negative outcomes for rural youth,it is crucial to promote communication between parents and children, provide guidance on family education, offer social and cultural activities, extend educational support from the government, and provide psychological counseling.
