Teachers'competence in family education guidance is a crucial aspect of their professional skills and a key starting point for advancing their professional growth in the contemporary era.The study,utilizing a mixed-method approach involving in-depth interviews and questionnaire surveys,reveals that the fundamental skills necessary for teachers in family education guidance encompass four main dimensions:foundational skills in fostering school-family collaboration,practical skills in offering family education guidance,skills in conducting family education research,and skills in leading lifelong learning initiatives.On the whole,teachers'competence in family education guidance is slightly above average but still requires further enhancement.There are notable variations in the secondary aspects of teachers'competence in family education guidance skills based on factors such as gender,age,years of teaching experience,and ethnicity.Proposed policy measures include:developing structured family education guidance courses with educational topics as modules;conducting regular training sessions for family education guidance to enhance skills;establishing a dedicated community for family education research to support professional growth;and providing ongoing assistance for family education guidance through institutional development.
