Progress in understanding of association between infectious diseases and hypoproteinemia in elderly people
Infectious diseases have a high incidence in elderly people, especially in hospitalized patients, and with the progression of the diseases, these patients often develop hypoproteinemia. The presence of hypoproteinemia often affects the therapeutic effect and prognosis of the patients. This article will review the mechanism of infectious diseases leading to hypoproteinemia in elderly people and their mutual influence, so as to better treat infectious diseases in elderly people and benefit them.
