Polycystic kidney disease complicated with cystic infection caused by multi-drug resistant Klebsiella pneumoniae: a case report and literature review
Cyst infection, a common complication in patients with polycystic kidney disease, is difficult to control, prone to recurrence, and even life-threatening. In particular, cyst infections caused by drug-resistant bacteria are significantly more difficult to treat. In this paper, we report a case of polycystic kidney disease complicated with cyst infection with bacteremia caused by carbapenem-resistant Klebsiella pneumoniae. Satisfactory efficacy was achieved by using antibacterial drugs combined with internal drainage. This case report aims to provide some ideas for the clinical diagnosis and treatment of this condition.
