Effect of intravascular He-Ne laser irradiation on blood for leukocyte adhesion function and serum soluble intercellular molecule-1 in cerebral infarction patients
Objective To investigate the effect of intravascular He-Ne laser irradiation on blood(ILIB) for leukocyte adhesion function(LAF) and serum soluble intercellular adhesion molecule-1(sICAM-1) in cerebral infarction(CT) patients. Methods 30 CI cases were treated with drug treatment(group A);other 36 cases, based on the drug treatment, received the ILIB therapy(group B) once a day for 10 times.another 40 healthy subjects were as control group. The LAF and sICAM-1 concentrations were measured before treatment and after the 5th and 10th day of treatment. Results The LAF and sICAM-1 concentrations in CI patients were obviously higher than those of control group(t=16.50~17.94,P<0.001).In group A,the LAF and sICAM-1 concentrations were significantly decreased in the 10th day after treatment(t=3.18,P<0.01;t=3.96,P<0.001),but,in group B,they presented on the 5th and 10th day after ILIB treatment(t=4.48~12.72,P<0.001).However,these parameters of group B were obviously lower than those of group A in the same stage(t=2.67~7.81,P<0.01 or 0.001).While the effective rate(72.22%) of group B was higher than that of group A(46.67%)(χ2=4.48,P<0.05). Conclusion These findings indicate that the ILIB therapy can decrease the LAF and sICAM-1 concentrations in CI patients and it is one of those mechanisms for treating CI patients probably.
