Modern women had experienced a series of remodeling in the trend of women's liberation of entering the workplace.As a key force of remodeling modern professional women,government had played a direct and significant role.The emergence of female police fully reflected the institutionalized mode and intention of remodeling modern female profession of Nanjing National Government.The research,using gender analysis category,combined with police administrative data,compiled archives,journals and other related historical materials,from government-oriented perspective,fully reproduced Nanjing National Government's institutional arrangement of constructing women police.Nanjing National Government had created hybrid modernity for female police through being gendered of police concepts,professional training,re-socialization of police work,and media recognition,and by doing these work,breaking professional gender isolation formally,promoting police modernization and women's liberation,but the shaping was in accordance feminism in the minds of men essentially.Under the discourse of the nation state,the policewomen showed the subjectivity of"not weak,not modern,exemplary and responsible",and took a slow development road of following the rules.
