Application of SPOC-based SP Teaching Method in Clinical Teaching of TCM Pediatrics
Objectives This study aims to explore the application effect of SP teaching method based on SPOC in clinical teaching of TCM pediatrics,so as to provide new ideas for clinical internship teaching.Methods A total of 110 clinical undergraduate students who interned in pediatrics in a certain hospital from March 1,2022 to June 30,2022 were selected for research.The students were randomly divided into a research group and a control group with 55 people each for internship teaching.The research group adopted the SPOC+SP teaching model,while the control group adopted the traditional teaching model.The two groups were uniformly assessed for admission and graduation,and questionnaires were distributed to evaluate the teaching effect.Finally,the general information,assessment scores,and survey results of the two groups were compared.Results There was no statistically significant difference in the general information and admission scores between two groups(P>0.05).The total graduation score of the research team was 83.24±8.06,including theoretical knowledge(16.60±2.50),clinical skills and physical examination(24.95±2.08),medical history collection and medical record writing(16.73±1.78),and clinical case analysis(24.95±2.69),which were all better than those of the control group,which were 79.45±7.21 points,15.51±2.13 points,24.04±2.15 points,16.05±1.72 points,and 23.85±2.07 points respectively.The differences were all statistically significant(P<0.05).The difference in the students'satisfaction with their teachers between two groups was not statistically significant(P>0.05).From the aspects of the overall satisfaction,teaching mode satisfaction,theoretical knowledge mastery,clinical skills mastery,learning enthusiasm improvement,independent learning ability improvement,knowledge integration ability improvement,communication ability improvement,and clinical thinking ability improvement,the research group was better than the control group.The difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusions The SP teaching method based on SPOC is applied to the clinical teaching of TCM pediatrics,which can help improve the teaching effect,stimulate students'learning enthusiasm,and cultivate students'comprehensive abilities.It is worthy of further exploration and application.
