Application of Surgical Robot Navigation System in Neurosurgery Teaching for Postgraduates with Professional Degree
Objectives This study aims to analyze the effects of surgical robotic navigation system in standardized residents training for postgraduates with professional degrees in neurosurgical department. Methods A total of 112 residents who underwent standardized training in the Department of Neurosurgery at a hospital from October 1,2020 to January 31,2023 were randomly divided into an experimental group and a control group with 56 trainees each. The experimental group was taught with the assist of the surgical robot navigation system combined with conventional teaching mode, while the control group only adopted the conventional teaching mode. The residents'theoretical knowledge and operation ability were assessed, and anonymous questionnaires were administered. The assessment results and teaching evaluation of the two groups were compared. Results The t-test analysis showed that the theoretical knowledge assessment scores(90.68±5.09 vs.85.04±4.98)and overall scores(90.96±4.61 vs.88.23±4.28)of the residents in the experimental group were higher than those in the control group with significant difference(P<0.05).Meanwhile,the residents in the experimental group rated their satisfaction with teaching, participation in learning, expansion of subject knowledge and improvement of scientific research ability higher than those in the control group. The difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusions In the practice of standardized residents training for postgraduates with professional degrees in neurosurgical department, the combination of surgical robotic navigation system assistance and conventional teaching modes can significantly improve teaching effect and trainee satisfaction.
