Effect of Standardized Terminology Training on Improving the Quality of Nursing Records in Thoracic Surgery
Objective To apply standardized terminology to train nurses in order to improve the quality of nursing records. Methods A total of 80 nursing records from January 1st,2021 to March 31th,2021 were randomly selected as the control group, and 80 nursing records from April 1st,2021 to April 30th,2021 were randomly selected as the observation group. The nursing records of the control group and the observation group were for the same group of nursing staff and the nursing records were written. There were 20 nursing staff. The nurses were trained in standardized terms from Mar 1st,2021 to July 31th,2021,and the nurses were trained in standardized terms from Mar 1st,2021 to July 31th,2021.The quality of nursing record writing and the satisfaction of nurses before and after standardized terminology training were compared. Results The standardized terminology training observation group had significantly higher scores in body temperature(27.18±2.05),evaluation record(18.79±1.82),handover record(9.05±1.24),nursing record(38.52±3.27),and total score(93.54±8.21)than the control group(20.56±1.84,14.36±1.25,7.13±0.86,31.55±2.92,73.60±6.18),with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).Comparison of nursing record writing quality defects after standardized terminology training in the control group The incidence of nursing record writing quality defects in the standardized terminology training observation group was 1.25%lower than that in the control group 8.75%(P<0.05).The total satisfaction of nursing staff in the standardized terminology training observation group was significantly higher at 100.00%compared to 80.00%in the control group, with a statistically significant difference(P<0.05).Conclusions Standardized terminology training could improve the quality of nursing records in thoracic surgery, reduce the writing defects of nursing records, and improve nurses'satisfaction, which is worth further promotion and application.
