Analysis of 190 Cases of Inpatient Death in a certain Hospital
Objectives To investigate the characteristics and influencing factors of 190 cases of inpatient death in a hospital of Danzhou city,so as to provide an effective basis for improving the quality of medical service and reducing the fatality rate. Methods The information of 190 cases of death admitted to a hospital in Danzhou city from January 1st,2020 to December 1st,2021 was summarized and sorted, and the cause of death of the cases was clearly included and classified according to the ICD-10 coding principle. The annual mortality rate of hospital deaths during the study period was observed, and the distribution of gender, age and cause of death of the dead cases was compared. The influencing factors of in-hospital death were analyzed by univariate and multivariate Logistic regression. Results The total annual case fatality rate within 2 years was 0.60%,among which the case fatality rate in 2021 was higher(0.63%);the case fatality rate of men was 0.70%(117/16823);the case fatality rate of women was 0.49%(73/14839).The fatality rate of male patients in the hospital was significantly higher than that of female patients, and the difference in fatality rate between different genders was statistically significant(χ2=5.475,P=0.019);in the obtained data, the average age of the death cases was(73.16±26.10)Aged mortality≥60 years 84.74%(161/190),and the number of in-hospital deaths showed an upward trend with increasing age. There was a statistically significant difference in the case fatality rate among different age groups(χ2=33.263,P<0.001);the etiology of the 190 cases included in the death cases was mostly concentrated in the top 5(accumulative proportion 88.95%).Tumor,circulatory system disease, respiratory system, infectious disease, digestive system related diseases; The mortality of male≥60 years old, tumor disease and respiratory disease increased significantly and were independent risk factors for hospitalization death. Conclusions Malignant tumors and respiratory diseases were the main causes of death.Screening should be focused on inpatients with risk factors of death to further provide references for hospital management and disease prevention and control.
