Research on the Application of SPOC combined with PBL Teaching Method in Clinical Skill Teaching of Medical Students
Objectives To apply SPOC combined with PBL teaching method to clinical skill teaching of medical students,and explore its influence on teaching quality and test anxiety of students.Methods 124 medical students from the department of clinical medicine and the department of pediatrics who studied in a certain hospital were randomly divided into two groups,60 students in the control group,using traditional teaching method,and 64 students in the experimental group,using SPOC combined with PBL teaching method.The teaching quality was evaluated through theoretical examination results,practical operation results and questionnaires,using test anxiety inventory to understand the influence of different teaching methods on students'test anxiety.The measurement data were tested by using two independent sample t-test,the enumeration data were tested by using chi square test,P<0.05 indicated that the difference was statistically significant.Results The scores of theoretical examination(43.56±3.93),practical operation(45.07±4.07)and total score(88.61±5.76)in the experimental group were significantly higher than those in the control group(40.12±3.41,41.40±3.96,81.53±4.72),the difference between the two groups was statistically significant(P<0.01).The students'questionnaire of teaching evaluation showed that the total score of the experimental group(28.32±0.71)was significantly higher than that of the control group(19.79±0.69),P<0.01.The total score of the test anxiety inventory(29.68±4.31)in the experimental group was significantly lower than that in the control group(39.95±5.45),with a significant difference between two groups(P<0.01).Conclusions The application of SPOC combined with PBL teaching method in clinical skill teaching could significantly improve the clinical examination results of medical students,improve the teaching quality and improve the test anxiety of students.
