Diagnostic Value and Clinical Significance of FAR and CEA in Colorectal Cancer
Objective To explore the diagnostic value and clinical significance of FAR and CEA in colorectal cancer. The advantages and disadvantages of this indicators in individual and combined diagnosis were compared. Methods From January 2012 to December 2012,176 colorectal cancer patients and 180 healthy people in a hospital were selected. We compared the levels of FAR,NLR,CEA,CA199 and CA125 between the two groups, and analyzed the diagnostic efficacy of the above indicators for colorectal cancer using ROC curve.Mann Whitney U test was used as the relationship between these indicators and the clinical characteristics of colorectal cancer. Results The levels of FAR,NLR,CEA,CA199 and CA125 in colorectal cancer group were higher than those in healthy control group(P<0.05);ROC curve showed that FAR and CEA had better diagnostic efficacy than CA199,CA125 and NLR(P<0.05),The combination of FAR and CEA was superior to single index in the diagnosis of colorectal cancer(AUC=0.960)(P<0.05);Mann Whitney U test was used to analyze the clinical characteristics of colorectal cancer. The depth of tumor invasion was correlated with FAR and CEA(P<0.05),the patients with distant metastasis had higher CEA level than those with local metastasis(P<0.05);colorectal cancer patients with tumor diameter≥4.5 cm had higher FAR level(P<0.05).Conclusions FAR had high sensitivity for early diagnosis of colorectal cancer. The combination of FAR and CEA could improve the diagnostic efficacy of colorectal cancer.
