Discussion on the practicality of online mailing and traditional mailing of medical record copies
The traditional offline mailing method has certain disadvantages. For example,it is restricted by many conditions such as time, region, and certificates,so it cannot handle services for patients anytime and anywhere. At the same time, the charging method is not reasonable enough. In line with the patient-centered thinking, the hospital has carried out mail service reform, and the traditional manual method has been replaced by the online WeChat public account method. This study aims to summarize the situation of copying work in the past two years before and after the reform and conduct statistical analysis on the delayed mailing of medical records,so as to compare the pros and cons of the new and old mailing methods and find out the problems that need to be improved in the new mailing method. The results showed that the proportion of people who made copies by online mail accounted for more than twice that of those who were discharged by traditional methods,The total number of pages copied by online methods was significantly higher than that by traditional methods, and the difference was statistically significant. This indicates that the reform of the mailing method has been supported and recognized by the majority of patients, and the focus of medical record copying has shifted from offline to online.Online mailing can save patients and their families travel time, reduce doctor-patient conflicts, and improve the efficiency of medical record mailing. It is a development trend in medical record work. However, the online method has important problems such as delayed mailing.Key rectifications need to be made to address the main reasons for delayed mailing, such as incomplete medical records, errors in the online review of mailings, objections to the mailing content but lack of telephone communication with patients, etc.Online business channels and scope could be expanded to develop online mailing into a more practical medical record copying mode.
